Both subsidiaries of the EDEN group, sharing the same ecological & humanist values, hotel group Amanta and property developer EDEN PROMOTION are developing their activities under the same roof in La Rochelle. The latter aims to develop new property projects in line with the values of sustainable development and renewable energy. It is this culture of property development and environmental engineering that initiated and then nurtured hotel development projects, giving rise to Amanta. This atypical know-how combining experience in property development and hotel operation enables us to design buildings in line with the needs of a hotel world, which is constantly evolving.
In mainland France, the developer (Eden Promotion) and operator (AMANTA) ecosystem is also a creator of opportunities, following the example of the Athome and Côté Océan programmes. In the Indian Ocean, Amanta has dual developer/operator skills in establishments where it owns the premises and provides project engineering.
The AMANTA Group has been committed to environmental responsibility for many years, in order to minimise our impact on the environment.
In concrete terms, during the construction and renovation of our establishments, we try not to impact the soil or the plant species present, by avoiding cutting down trees and shrubs. Our establishments adapt to the unique locations in which they are set up, and not the other way round. In addition, the light fittings on our sites are chosen and placed with respect for the local fauna. Finally, we favour maintenance and cleaning as much as possible using environmentally-friendly cleaning products to avoid impacting the soil and the quality of groundwater.
Our eco-responsible hotels are committed to the reasoned management of resources on a daily basis.
Where possible, we install renewable energy production systems to cover part of our energy needs. At the same time, our facilities and equipment (insulation, maintenance of the cold chain, LED lighting and low-energy bulbs, heating, etc.) are chosen for their energy efficiency. Finally, our staff and customers are made aware of their own consumption (air conditioning, cleaning of sheets and towels) in order to keep it as low-energy as possible.
Water is a rare resource that we try to preserve as much as possible. Some water recovery systems are used to water our green spaces, which are designed with this resource in mind (species are prioritised according to their need for water). Whenever possible, communal areas and bedrooms are equipped with water-saving systems (particularly in the bathrooms). All employees and guests are encouraged to consume in a sober and rational manner.
Managing waste in the hotel industry is a challenge, and our first priority is to reduce our waste as much as possible, whatever it may be (limiting single-use packaging, particularly plastic, consciously choosing suppliers by favouring those with bulk formats, limiting printing on paper, etc.). Residual waste is sorted, recycled where territories allow, or recovered directly on our sites. For example, organic waste is composted and used in our vegetable gardens. Waste from the construction phases is used in our decoration and furnishings (wood, bamboo, etc).
Among the measures we have put in place to protect the environment, we take particular care with our suppliers.
Our restaurants use products sourced as locally as possible, and respecting seasonality. We favour organic fruit and vegetables. Meat and fish products are chosen first and foremost for their quality, the proximity of production and respect for animal welfare.
In order to satisfy all our customers and participate in the global change in practices, we make sure to offer vegetarian alternatives in all our restaurants.
Each establishment is part of a local area and in touch with the associative fabric (social and environmental). We have links with environmental associations working to protect birdlife (GEPOMAY), marine species (CETAMADA, CETAMAORE, Sharkwhale project, KORAI), and to raise awareness of waste management (Kiss One Environnement), as well as with educational and health associations (Giovanna Peril Madagascar).
We have a very special historical link with the AMADA association in Madagascar.
